17th Annual Kid’s Carnival

Community Crossroads recently held the 17th Annual Kid’s Carnival at the Woodbury School in Salem. We are very grateful to the school for their continued support over the years. We are very fortunate to have all the performers and dedicated volunteers who donate their time and talent. Thank you all for your passion and love for the Community!

The event brought in many families from the local communities. Throughout the day there were demonstrations by the Salem Fire Department. Children enjoyed dressing up in their gear. Jet-Stream Jocelyn of Mad Science wowed the crowd with her magical science show. Ronald McDonald had the audience mesmerized by his fabulous magic show. Ocasio’s True Martial Arts kept the crowd entertained and also had fun with their very own spin the wheel game. The Studio of Performing Arts delighted the audience with several dances by their talented competitive dance teams. They invited the entire crowd to enjoy a few dance moves. Get Down Tonight Entertainment with DJ Pat Messina, entertained throughout the day with his awesome array of music with the cakewalk a “must do” for all ages.

Sandlots Sports & Entertainment continued to sponsor the coloring contest. The judges consisted of the Family Support Council members who had a difficult time picking the winners among all that talent. Congratulations to all that participated! We had the Lowell Spinners, Canaligator, Manchester Monarchs, Max, Mickey & Minnie Mouse and Kona Ice mascots available for pictures and some even danced in the famous cakewalk. There was a special visit by Team Tooth Fairy to share prizes and spread awareness for Dental Health Month. A new addition was also a visit by the Kona Ice cart.  It certainly didn’t matter how cold the weather was outside because it was a huge success inside. Life is Good continues to support our day with fresh popcorn and stickers. An iPad was donated by Pentucket Bank and Mirjo Timmons was the very excited winner.

Everything and everyone involved made this day a safe, fun and exciting event for the kids of all ages and abilities. The event also included many handmade crafts, raffle prizes and carnival games. The face painters were so very talented. It was fun seeing how very excited the children were with the variety of activities. It could not be such a big success without our main sponsors Salem Co-operative Bank, Pentucket Bank & Enterprise Bank as well as the organizations and families that donated raffle items for our variety of baskets. Your generosity is very appreciated by all of us at Community Crossroads and our families that we serve. Please visit our website and Facebook to enjoy the photos from this fun filled day!
