My Day At The 31st Annual Golf Challenge

The 31st Annual Golf Challenge was a day filled with friends reuniting, new friendships forming, raffles being won and lots of golf. This year’s fundraiser, which took place at the Candia Woods Golf Links, may have looked a little different from past years but the positive energy was just as present as ever.

One aspect of this year’s Golf Challenge that stood out to me was the wide range participants. Some have been attending since nearly the inception of the tournament, while others participated this year for the very first time. Regardless of how many years the golfers have been coming to the tournament, there seems to be a mutual agreement that together, we are helping to give families and individuals access to new opportunities, and ways to live a better life.

Jim Cotter is a first-time attendee to our fundraiser and said he thinks highly of Community Crossroads and what we do to support families. Jim scored a hole-in-one on the course and noted that achievement encourages him to return next year.

Kathy Garafolo has been a longtime tournament attendee and noted that it was nice to see so many old friends and help raise money year after year for such a wonderful cause.

Intensive Services Coordinator at Community Crossroads Brytani Brown highlighted the community we have built throughout the past three decades. “This tournament shows how much we support rezilliancy,” Brytani noted.

I have attended the tournament for the past two years and the biggest thing that sticks out to me is the number of people who are dedicated to making this day happen. From Community Crossroads employees, to the golfers themselves who through word-of-mouth and social media bring new people on board, to our sponsors who are dedicated year after year, it is clear there is a large number of people with the same eagerness to help the families we support.
